On Thursday, May 4th, 2017, Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman made the following information available on the County Executive’s Facebook page:

A vacancy was created earlier this week when board member Christine O’Connor resigned. Under state law, the county executive appoints, subject to confirmation by the County Council, a qualified individual to fill any vacancy on the Board. The appointee will serve the remainder of O’Connor’s term. Applicants must be a resident of Howard County and a registered voter.

“During this time of transition for the school system, we will move quickly to fill this vacancy,” said Kittleman. “Education has always been my top priority. As I review applications, I’ll be looking for a candidate committed to ensuring that we continue to improve our top-ranked school system. I will also be looking for a candidate whose experience complements the backgrounds of current board members.”

Kittleman, who has made services and accommodations for residents with disabilities a priority, will also look for ideas and a commitment to support the special education needs of our students.

Applicants should submit a resume and letter of interest to [email protected]

Applications will be accepted until Friday, May 12, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.

March with Allan Kittleman in one of the Fourth of July Parades!

We're asking volunteers to help Allan and Robin pass out candy along the parade routes.

Bring the kids! Always a fun time.

Thanks! A member of our team will be in touch!
