County Executive Calvin Ball removed school resource officers from HCPSS Middle Schools on April 21, 2021.

This was wrong and compromises the safety of students and teachers.

School Resource Officers Help Keep Kids Safe

Based upon the 2020 study of K-12 Active Shooter Incidents from 1985-Present, an intervention by a School Resource Officer decreased the average duration of incidents(without hostages) from 8 minutes to 2 minutes.
